Leonard Perlmutters 15th Annual Meditation and Yoga Retreat to be Held at The American Meditation Institute in Averill Park, New York

Averill Park, NY (PRWEB) June 15, 2015

The American Meditation Institute (AMI) in Averill Park, New York will host Leonard Perlmutters 15th annual Heart and Science of Yoga summer intensive retreat 16-19, 2015. This CME accredited foundation course for self-care will present an extensive curriculum of Yoga Science as mind/body medicine including topics on meditation, stress and pain management, breathing, easy-gentle yoga, Ayurveda, Yoga psychology, immortality and nutrition. The weekend retreat is designed for first-time or experienced meditators, and offers 18 continuing medical education credits for physicians, nurses and psychologists. Leonard Perlmutter (Ram Lev), AMI founder, noted educator and author of the award-winning book The Heart and Science of Yoga: A Blueprint for Peace, Happiness & Freedom from Fear will present all course components.

This intensive Heart and Science of Yoga course presents a comprehensive training in the worlds most effective holistic mind/body medicine and explains its scientific foundation. Noted physicians Dr. Oz (Mehmet Oz MD), Dean Ornish MD, Bernie Siegel MD and Larry Dossey MD have endorsed the curriculum being offered. The American Medical Association, American Nurses Association and the American Psychological Association provide medical accreditation credits for health care practitioners in attendance.

As part of AMIs Yoga of Medicine program, this weekend intensive will include the following areas of study: an easy meditation procedure; a systematic method for harnessing the power of the mind; breathing practices to enhance the immune system; an understanding of the creative benefits of mantra science; Ayurvedic health principles; easy-gentle yoga exercises for joints, glands and internal organs; and the benefits of contemplation and prayer. The entire agenda is designed to encourage active participant interaction by combining engaging lectures, practicums and Q&A in a concentrated three-day format. Leonard Perlmutters 38 years of personal study and teaching will provide all attendees, regardless of the level of experience, a complete set of meditation tools that can relieve stress, reduce pain, boost the immune system, heal relationships, enhance problem solving abilities, and help them experience greater health, happiness, creativity and security.

Meditation master Leonard Perlmutter (Ram Lev) has taught on the faculties of the New England Institute of Ayurvedic Medicine, the Himalayan Yoga Teachers Association and the College of Saint Rose. He is a disciple of holistic health pioneer Swami Rama of the Himalayas, the Yoga scientist who, in laboratory conditions at the Menninger Institute, demonstrated that blood pressure, heart rate and the autonomic nervous system could be voluntarily controlled. Leonard has presented courses at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, the Albany Medical College, the Commonwealth Club of California, The New York Times Yoga Forum with Dean Ornish, MD, and the United States Military Academy at West Point.

According to Leonard Perlmutter, Human beings are not merely physical bodies. We are breathing and thinking beings alsoliving with complex thoughts, desires and emotions. Our individual achievement of optimal health does not begin with a lower health insurance premium. First and foremost, human wellness requires a reliable blueprint for mind/body self-care. With active and discriminating participation in our own health management, we can form a healing partnership with our physiciansand stop working against our own best interests.

Meditation is the unifying thread throughout all Mr. Perlmutters lectures. The word meditation is related to the root word for medical or medicate. It implies a sense of attending to or paying attention to something. Meditation involves an inner attention that is concentrated, quiet and relaxed. Mr. Perlmutter teaches attendees how to consciously let go of their habitual tendencies to think, analyze, solve problems, and dwell on events of the past or concerns for the future. Students learn to slow down their rapid succession of thoughts and feelings, and replace that mental activity with an inner awareness or mindfulness. They learn how to witness and set aside stressful mental processes, such as worrying. Instead, they develop a valuable new skill that facilitates detachment, discrimination, willpower and creativity.

The stress, anxiety, speed and dissatisfaction associated with many aspects of our modern culture, has led individuals from all walks of life and religious traditions to practice meditation in order to reduce their physical, mental and emotional dis-ease. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia, everyday lifestyle choices are responsible for 53 percent of all disease. According to Perlmutter, Sound decisions concerning a beneficial diet, healthy nutrition, daily exercise, diaphragmatic breathing and lifestyle selection are all much easier to make when the mind is trained through meditation.

NAPSRx News: State of the Pharmaceutical Sales Rep Labor Market -2015 To See Growth

Washington, DC (PRWEB) February 23, 2015

Today, National Association of Pharmaceutical Sales Reps (NAPSRx) released its annual State of the Pharmaceutical Sales Rep Industry Report and is once again projecting growth for reps in the industry for 2015.

Even in a rocky economic period, pharmaceutical sales representatives remain an in-demand profession. With a Baby Boomer population reaching 80 million in the United States, the need for pharmaceutical drugs is high and expected to keep rising.

The Senior Citizens community is aggressively seeking treatments and cures for everything that ails them. As this population continues to mature, the demand for constantly improving remedies will continue to grow, says Todd Ruff Industry Insider. The size of this aging demographic continues to drive growth in the industry.

With a salary, commission and bonus, a successful rep can take home a substantial income. The average salary for a entry level pharmaceutical sales rep is about $ 98,000, according to CareerBuilder.com, but adding commission and bonuses can often boost annual earnings considerably.

Pharmaceutical sales reps should be well versed in data, statistics and issues in the health care community. Continual education is also required to stay up to date on advances in medicine and new products.

Additional training available

The National Association of Pharmaceutical Sales Reps (NAPSRx) provides ongoing training programs and the industry CNPR certification courses each year for entry-level sales representatives.

However, pharmaceutical sales jobs arent just for candidates fresh out of college, and attendance at CNPR Pharmaceutical Sales Certification programs reflects this, with about 70 percent consisting of people changing careers.

For those considering a job in pharmaceutical sales, talking one-on-one with a sales rep in the field could provide some valuable insight into whether this career is right for you.

The result is an increasingly competitive job market, NAPSRx adds. Candidates looking to break in need all the help they can get and completing the CNPR Certification program will certainly do that.

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual salary of an experienced pharmaceutical sales representatives is $ 98,200 as of May 2013, and most earned between $ 101,710 and $ 145,730.

Those who work for established companies enjoy competitive benefits packages that often include a company car, business trips, expense accounts, stock options, bonuses, medical and life insurance, tuition reimbursement and retirement plans.

Because they work on an excellent base salary with some commissions as well as bonuses, pharmaceutical sales representatives have some control over their earnings and can improve their pay by increasing their sales.

Job Growth

The BLS expects a job growth of 10% for all sales representatives of technical and scientific products (which includes PSRs) between 2012 and 2022, which is roughly average job growth. CNNMoney.com has projected job growth of 12% from 2006 to 2016 specifically for pharmaceutical sales representatives. Demand is highest for knowledgeable sales people who are able to stay up to date in a rapidly changing industry and communicate effectively with health care professionals.

The pharmaceutical industry is based largely in California, New Jersey and parts of the Midwest, so candidates who live in these areas may have an advantage when it comes to obtaining entry-level positions. Those with a strong educational background in the life sciences, business and statistics are also attractive to employers.

While it is true that adults over age 65 have about half the national rate of smokers in their ranks, being 65 or older is still the right time for anyone with the habit to quit. In the 2009 National Health Interview Survey, more than one in five adults 18 years of age or older claimed to be regular smokers. More men were smokers than women, the poor were greater smokers than other income brackets, and the good news is that by adults reached age 65+, their rate fell to only about one in eleven who were smokers. Some of these persistent smokers may feel that by the time they reach this age that it will not help to quit or that they may not have any great risk of anything happening at that point. Wrong!
